Watch out for hidden costs. I chose this business to transfer some old reel-to-reel tape recordings to digital format, partly because of their good feedback, and partly because they advertise that they only charged per recorded hour, not by the number of tapes (the website states "The final price is then calculated at the hourly rate"). Having sent the tapes, I received an email stating that "Price to supply the MP3 files to you to include a USB memory stick would be 60.00, plus 7.50 return tracked P&P, total 67.50." I paid this, and was left with the happy anticipation of receiving between 2 and 3 hours of recordings. When I received the transferred files, which were of good quality, I was a little baffled to find that the total recording time was 1 hour and 21 minutes. When I queried this, I was told that I had been charged 20 for a USB stick! I thought there must have been a mistake, and pointed out that the USB stick supplied would cost 4.15 from Amazon. Their somewhat terse response was that elsewhere on their website there is a sentence stating 'Prices exclude storage and packing and delivery', and that 'You have the choice of sending your own storage or purchasing from, it is your choice whether you ask how much they cost, but dont expect Amazon prices for these items from us.' I found this frustrating - they could have pointed out this cost in their pricing email but chose not to mention it.
