Finished up here after a misty walk and delighted to find that while tables for food have to be pre-booked, there was a drop-in drinks table free. Lovely place, very welcoming, and decent drinks.

"once noted as being thesecond highest pub in England..." But not really run as a pub now. 2023 very limited hours and you need to book a table. 5 pp for two hours; includes one free drink - checkthe bookings page.

Ive been wanting to come for a while and it didnt disappoint after a lovely walk in the Goyt Valley. Excellent service and loved the comfy seats. I will have to come back when its cold enough to have the wood burner on :)

Been going there for years. When it re opened we popped in for a brew. We're told they don't do hot drinks. We were made to feel very unwelcome. We'll I guess they don't like people on motorcycles any more. If you can't get anything except gins I'd suggest the police make sure everyone leaving gets breathalysed .
