Pear Tree House

We had a lovely week at Pear Tree House. Excellent communication with Ben from the first enquiry. A beautiful house sympathetically restored with all mod cons but retaining many of the original features of the house. Spotlessly clean, fabulous kitchen with all the facilities you could possibly need and very detailed house instructions. Great location for drives around north Yorkshire, and excellent local bus service into York from just outside the house. We have stayed in dozens of holiday rentals over the years and this rates as one of the best. Top rate hosts and highly recommended.

I can not recommend this home enough. Not only because of how lovely a place it was to be based for 5 days but because Ben and Rosie could not have been nicer people. If it wasn't for other bookings we would have happily stayed longer and have no question about returning. Aside from my feelings about the place and people, practically they had everything you need with dedicated spaces for it all; utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and down stairs toilet. Kitchen with two of everything; sinks, ovens, fridges all in an underfloor heated space. Gorgeous bedrooms, separate dressing room. Anything that I felt was missing (because I had not looked properly = ) they were happy to provide. All this and located in a gorgeous building in a beautiful village setting. Ultimately it is about how you feel in these homes and it really did feel like home for me. Thank you again to them both. Robert

We stayed at Pear Tree House over the New Year with my cousin and her husband. What a wonderful place to stay! Its luxurious and beautifully done, particularly the kitchen/living area. The kitchen is very well equipped. The house is immaculately clean. The village is beautiful and the location is good for accessing York, Helmsley, Castle Howard and the moors by car. There is a bus to York which we didnt use. Ben and Rosie are excellent hosts, Bens communication prior to, during and after our stay was prompt, pleasant and helpful. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Every now and then, you meet a host so warm and kind that you wish they were part of your own family. This was the case with Ben and his family. Communicative and generous. They went above and beyond to make my stay a pleasant one. Their home is absolutely perfect, gorgeous, spacious, well-equipped in an idyllic neighborhood. I can't wait to return.

This is a beautiful, spacious, well equipped, warm and relaxing home. The care that has gone into every aspect is second to none. Situated in a beautiful village well sited for walks, a wide range of pubs and cafes and historic buildings to visit. 5 star in every aspect
