This is a really useful place. I went to make a little table to hold my Christmas tree originally, but now it's become an everyday, useful piece of furniture. The price of the wood was really good and they cut it to size. They also have a variety of different woods.

A great idea that keeps so much wood from land fill. The staff and volunteers will do anything to help

Bit of a wasted Journey today, was looking for some 18mm plywood & some CLS 60mm x 30mm timber to build a table frame. Most of the pieces which were to acceptable condition were way over priced. Saw a length of timber which looked ok but price at 10 for a 2.4m length. Same size in B&Q was 4.98. Very disappointed and I don't think I will be going again.

We had a mirror that we left for a year standing on its side against a wall, real glass just a cheap MDF frame, well it warped. I searched the internet and found The Wood Shack (TWS) reclamation yard. I went to TWS and spent around 18.50 (which was not cheap at all for the small amount of wood that I purchased) for 4 short lengths of timber, so 3 stars. I personally found out later via a sawmill that the wood I purchased from TWS was called Meranti. As you can clearly see from the attached photos I made a nice mirror frame for the mirror glass we previously owned. TWS only had a small amount of hard woods to choose from, but I managed to find 4 small lengths for my mirror project. It's a shame that TWS themselves didn't know the name of the wood that I purchased from them. Anyway, I'm happy with the end project so thank you
