INITIAL REVIEW (Response to Robert below this section) We came here due to Hirons closings down and i regret it. The store itself has a wide variety of plants but the staff are unwelcoming and rude. First things first I'm black, and i came with my mother and the staff followed us around, and gave us dirty looks as we walked around. I ended up spending near 100 and i thanked the gentleman at the till 'thanks geez' after i paid to which he ignored and looked at me straight in my face. My mom looked at me as if to say 'why did that man ignore you' i said i don't know, truthfully i knew why. Hirons was universally loved because they catered to a variety of people and since they closed down we have struggled to find a garden store as good and it certainly isn't this one. REPLY TO ROBERTS MESSAGE I appreciate the personal response Robert. However, i must stress, i didn't speak to anyone about planting advice or Hirons closing down or anyone at all! Except when checking out at the till. So the chap you're referring to wasn't me. Which is a huge shame, because you had an interesting point. But unfortunately we don't all look alike. I'm not sure if you're lying or just plain old ignorant. But this situation calls for accountability not made up scenarios. And to answer your question about buying after feeling slighted, when you are black and middle classed you get used to being treated differently. So we wanted to get what we needed and leave as soon as possible, especially as Hirons had closed down. But don't worry, we won't be back.
