yesterday was 2 years since i went to newbridge house , the last two years exceeded my expectations in every singular respect due to the help of the nurses and heath care staff at newbridge house. whilst i maintain the view that impatient is not admirable or even desirable challenging the views we are currently seeing on social media , i cannot help but praise newbridge house for all the wonderful coping mechanisms and help it provided with me. nothing is less challenging than an admission into an intense therapeutic setting away from the four walls of your home , however the staff at newbridge house exceed expectations and are able to make young people feel asif they are their own person even whilst in the trenches of something as evil as anorexia. when i first arrived at newbridge house i felt i was completely lost and all hope was gone , however throughout the months of my admissions even from conversations with hcas (shout our ellease ) i was able to grasp at the smallest shred of hope and carry myself through. hopefully to anyone reading whom has considered receiving treatment here or may be considering recovery , i hope that the fact i am sitting here living a substantial life on the other side of fear will give u the nudge to choose recovery. newbridge house has successfully saved my life and allowed me to break down the suffocating walls my eating disorder placed around me. i cannot thank every single staff , whom simultaneously challenge all patients whilst remaining kind and reassuring. thankyou AD

I came to Newbridge with no desire to get better, thinking I would never reach recovery but I left with hope for my future and the knowledge that I can do anything I put my mind to. Newbridge saved my life, Im now living my life to the fullest, doing things I never thought Id be able to. The staff are unbelievable people who go above and beyond for the patients. Thankyou so much Newbridge, you have a special place in my heart, youve saved countless amount of peoples lives and dont get enough credit for all you do!!

A small handful of staff at Newbridge are very unprofessional and genuinely not very nice. - I overheard a member of staff saying they were going to put a very obvious fear food on someone's meal plan if they did not get into bed -Another staff member put 'no attempt made' on my peer's meal records before they even sat down, and then proceeded to say "prove me wrong" when they stuck up for themself. -And another said something to me, along the lines of ''does she not eat anything then?'' (an agency member of staff) And another few unprofessional instances There is another one, but I'm not going to write it here for my peers privacy. But a few staff may know which one I am talking about. -This is the one that got to me the most and ruined my last few days before discharge. Another thing made me uncomfortable being at Newbridge: I know hey did not mean it in a purposely harmful way but a number of staff asked me when I was going to wash my hair and some even told me to wash it. Yes, I may have needed to but these comments really got to me. This, of course, doesn't go for everyone. Most staff are friendly and genuinely there to help. I have to thank these members of staff for always being there and every other one of my peers. Sorry for ranting but I could not say this all in person.

Awful, no actual care for patients, overly strict to the point where there aren't any freedoms even when these are NOTHING to do with the patients mental health. Using scare tactics and punishing CHILDREN struggling with eating disorders such as taking away rights to be able to see loved ones due to them struggling mentally. They don't take advice on board, there were very FEW members of staff that actually cared and everyone who was there knew that most staff members were only there for an easy check. Rules were constantly being changed or added by staff members for no real reason. Think very carefully before sending your child here it does most people a lot more damage then good despite how they advertise it. Thank you new bridge for all the nightmares you gave me, thank-you for making my mental state 10x worse than when I arrived, thank-you causing me clinical depression only to be denied any help when I talked about it. You truly need to rethink what you are doing just because you get patients to a healthy weight by nothing but force docent mean they are recovered the few that don't relapse when they leave this 'hospital' only do so as they are so terrified of ever going back to a place like this, do you really think that sounds like good mental health care? Think again
