Its extremely rare that I give a bad review , and if I do I feel that the public need to be aware of the institution/ organisation being reviewed. I would describe the food which was given to me in this resturant as an offence to Japanese cuisine. I ordered something simple about 3 weeks ago......avocado maki. The rice was beyond " gooey" ...it was like glue. Its was disgusting rendering the dish unpalatable and inedible. Shocking that such a restaurant claims that it makes Japanese cuisine, which is know for its flavours and aesthetics. I know how sticky rice should be cooked and presented and taste. The staff need to look at this chef and adjust their prices or retrain him Either they charge prices to match their deluded egos and think the oublic in sutton cofueld are idiots, or the management are absolutely ignorant about the standards of good japanese cooking, taste and presentation If you are visiting for good Japanese cuisine I would strongly recommend you reconsider.

Having lived in Japan for many years in my younger days we were excited to try out sushido. The food was really tasty but we were was quite shocked with the price of everything. We regularly eat at authentic restaurants in Chinatown in Birmingham so was quite shocked to be paying around 18 bao buns and 17 for ramen at Sushido. You can get amazing authentic ramen for 11-12 in Birmingham and incredible bao buns for 6-7 each. Additionally we ordered the tonkatsu baos, expecting them to be breadcrumbed which is what tonkatsu is, but they were just pieces of marinated meat. You need to change the name on the menu because they wasnt authentic tonkatsu. Ive given 3 stars due to the sushi because really high quality and enjoyable. Its a shame because I think theyd be a lot busier if they reduced their price in line with what other restaurants of their calibre are offering.
