It is amazing if you are a child to come here but not so sure about working here as a staff. Why? It is the way my salary was handled. I started college one day a week while I was working at Edith Rose. On my college day I was expected to attend staff meeting in the evening but never saw extra pay for that hour. I paid for my own college work and I DIDN'T get paid on my days I attended college. After I left Edith Rose, I had to pay 300 tax back to tax office. Obviously the payroll messed up something, never reported that I was a student but I never complained. I was happy to get rid of the whole place. I worked like an ox for Edith Rose and went in on Saturdays to set up the free play corner like a construction site or a hairdressing salon but never ever even got a thank you for it. The nursery used to have a proper chef called Peggy and staff got free meals but in 2009 it was all abolished.

Both our daughters love Edith Rose Ascot. We particularly like the small group sizes and the great staff! We've seen huge progress in both the girls development, thanks in no small part to Edith Rose.

I adore this nursery and all the staff who work there. I started using them in April 2018 for my then 3 year old and 17 month old. I visited numerous nurseries before Edith Rose. I was immediately struck by how calm and homely the nursery felt. It is much smaller than all the others I had seen and because of this it means all the children get to know all the staff and become one big family. My eldest son started school in September 2019 and the staff did an excellent job to prepare him for this. My youngest son still goes there and will continue to do so until he starts school this September. He has been through transition periods when first starting nursery and when his older brother stopped going, which meant there were tears at drop off, but his key worker has done amazingly to comfort and reassure him, checking in with me regularly to give updates. As a result he is now happy and settled. They encourage as much outdoor activity and learning as possible and arrange activities outside of the nursery such as walks to the park. They also promote play with natural materials to encourage creativity and learning. For extra reassurance, they use Nursery Cam so parents can check in on their children whilst they are at nursery. There are strict protocols in place with this to ensure access is limited to primary care givers and only on the days their children are at nursery. They also use Kinderly to provide updates, record milestone developments, and capture precious moments for parents to access via their online account at any time. Lastly, fees are the most competitive in the area, especially with the free funded hours offer. When I initially looked around at nurseries I was surprised by how complicated and expensive the fees could be even with the free funded hours. I had no idea there could still be such massive costs involved. Edith Rose provide a clear fee structure that is massively cheaper in comparison to others, which is surprising considering the level of care they provide! I would 100% recommend this nursery to any parent looking for this type of childcare.
