Charged 100 for apparently missing an Xray appointment 10 months ago which I did not need in the first place! I have several issues with this- Firstly the dentist wanted me to have an Xray that I did not need. Had there been a problem to warrant an Xray,10 months down the line today, having not had the Xray,I would be suffering wont I? The reality is my gums & teeth are better than ever! Which begs the question why did the dentist insist that I needed an Xray? The only answer I can come up this is to extract more money out of the patient as an xray would mean high fees! Not Acceptable! What else can I surmise other than that! I never had this problem with the predecessor Mr Dean but since the management changed few years ago,its strongly feels like the focus is money not the patient! Second issue there has been no booking confirmation via email or text notifying me of any Xray appointment! As far as I am aware,no appointment was made. I had gone in to see the dentist on Jan 2022 because I cracked my tooth eating some boiled menthol sweets, after fixing my cracked tooth, is when I was told Xray is needed. I very clearly recall the receptionist asking me at end of that appointment if she should go ahead to make the appointment for Xray & I recall clearly saying I will call back next month ( Feb) to confirm if I need to have an appointment for Xray. I never called back to make the booking as my teeth & gums felt fine & I never received any confirmation of a booking that I am supposed of missed! No email or text confirmation of any booking! As far as I am concerned I did not miss any appointments because I did not make a booking & I received zero email/text confirmation of any booking. Lastly but most importantly, nowhere on the website of Ascot Dental Surgery does it state 100 or any amount will be charged for missing an appointment! Nowhere! I have taken screenshots of every page of the website as evidence incase the surgery adds that in now. I am very disappointed to have gone through this experience as someone who has been a patient here when Mr Dean was my dentist! Sadly I strongly feel the new manager that has taken over in the last few years is very focused on Money as number 1 & the patient only comes second. Prices of all treatment s were put up as soon as the new manager took charge few years ago & practices like this insisting on a Xray when I didnt need it! This would never have happened under Mr Dean! Sadly its time for me & my daughter to leave.

Very poor service, I would avoid this dentist. Fitted a metal amalgam filling over the top of a white filling which I then had to get removed. Didn't even give the option of a white filling so you can imagine my horror when I looked in the mirror in the car. He will remember the occasion because I told him what I thought when I realised. Treated me with disdain as I was a free NHS patient at the time due to ill health. The only thing that stopped me reporting the incident to the British Dental Association was their long winded complaints process.

The dentist I saw was very arrogant, I'm quite a nervous patient and it didn't help that he had a bad attitude. I was supposed to come back for another clean but because of him I never went back there. I also asked what kind of toothbrush he would recommend, and he said it doesn't matter - the way you brush is all that matters. Complete bull.
