I have been a junior rowing member at this club for around 18 months. Since the reorganisation in August 2022, the club has been a fantastic place and a much better environment. Everyone gets the same coaching and the coaches are very supportive. I feel I have improved massively since the reopening. I would highly recommend this club.

I have been a member (as a parent) for approx 18months. It has been challenging, with necessary restructuring of the club organisation. Recently, I have had only positive experiences. I am now learning to row, which I can attribute to the quality (and patience) of the coaches. I hope anyone wishing to try rowing gives it a go - it is a great opportunity to do something completely different (which is possible here for free through the Learn to Row scheme)

As a family we've been members of this club for 3years. My daughter loves it and the support she gets is amazing. Rowing has improved her confidence and helps her manage her nerves in exam situations. I'd recommend rowing to anyone, children or adults, whether you are just wanting a new hobby or want to compete and train hard.

I have rowed on and off at this club for over 26 years and has been such a lovely nurturing environment until just before the summer holidays following an almost hostile takeover. Unfortunately, the club has since been dissafiliated from British rowing resulting in most of its members leaving due to the unrest. Its with a heavy heart that I would say I would not recommend chester le street arc to anyone, although rowing is an amazing sport and myself and my family continue to row at another local club.

I joined here last year wanting to get back into rowing and make new friends, however it soon became apparent it wasnt the club for me. I personally found it to be a poorly run club (as highlighted recently by British rowing as one of their reasons for (temporary) disaffiliation) in comparison to others Ive been a member at, and the atmosphere was unpleasant and stressful. A highly unpleasant experience, would not recommend.
