        We have been in a few times since it reopened and I must say it is a good little bar the only negative I would say is the bar service is quite slow and it would be nice if the staff smiled now and then I understand you are working but everyone looks so grumpy all the time

        Donna and Martin have brought the proper Black horse back to Chester-le-Street. The most friendly publicans keeping it real, beer is spot on, had a couple of friends down from Newcastle who commented that the Guiness is the best they've had for years! Can't say a bad thing about the pub, the atmosphere, the punters! and an amazing beer garden that reflects how great the place is going , oh and free Pool table on a Tuesday!! Long may it last!
