Great Pub and lovely people. I was on my way home on the cycle track from Beamish to Washington in the dark and when it rained I couldnt see a thing through my glasses so I diverted off the track to Newfield and phoned international rescue (my dear wife) to come and pick me up. I called in to the Newfield Inn while I was waiting, had a lovely pint of Double Maxim and a great chat with everyone. I wish I had a local pub like this near us. When the wife turned up I didnt want to go home and she couldnt come in because she had her nightie and slippers on. Well be back Cheers everyone.
