Not the usual review but having just spent a week with this Company for my 'works experience' I would like to first say thank you for the privilege, everyone has been so nice to me, especially my partner for the week Gaz :) secondly, I would like to comment as an independent of the Company with what has been first hand experience, observing the response time, excellent customer service and expert knowledge, that I would deffinitely recommend Fred Stoddart for the services they provide, Sincerley Kiyana

Having received a competitive quote for a service to my boiler and 2 gas wall heaters I arranged for the service to be carried out. However on arrival the engineer serviced my boiler and then found an issue with my existing gas meter, this needed to be replaced before he could continue with the service work. He said once this was fitted he would come back and finish the service. I arranged this with my gas supplier and rearranged for Stoddart engineer to return and complete the rest of the service informing them I would need my existing pipe work connecting to the new gas meter. The engineer returned, completed the service to my gas wall heaters as per the original job and then connected my existing gas pipe to the new meter using 1 new connection. The work to the gas meter took approx. 40 minuets. All done and very happy with the service until I received the bill. The invoice was more than double of what I was quoted originally. When challenged I was told that this was due to the fact the engineer had to come out twice so there was the drive time plus the cost of fitting my gas pipe. The fact that the extra came to an additional 231 plus vat was a shock as at no point had anyone informed me of the extra charges. 231 for 40 minuets work plus driving from Sunderland to me was extortionate as the service of the gas wall heaters was part of the original price. When I challenged the invoice I was given a 30 discount !!!!! that is still 200 more than quoted. When I challenged the invoice again as I said no one had informed me of the extra charges before carrying out the work I was told " well you could have said you didn't want us to come out and finish the job ??????? Why would I not want the job I had been quoted for finished, however my dissatisfaction was in the fact the bill had more than doubled without being informed or even discussed with myself. My advise is get a firm price before any work carried out. I had asked for a price for fitting two new boilers in my property but have said after this experience do not bother coming to give me a price as it may double after being fitted. After this poor service the company has not only lost the chance of fitting new boilers but also my annual servicing of my appliances. Be aware. Service: Water heater repair
