I would never recommend Gentoo we are still waiting for ( I would say the truth) as to why our June July August window has been at least 4 times put back to Feb/April 2023 they only contact us when we find out via 3rd party that they contact us with excuse after excuse We have lost deposits on furniture etc if I'd know how Appalling this company was I would Never have bought at cottier Grange It's people's lives they are messing around With actual no care at all My advice would be avoid at All cost

Moved into a home on The Fairways, South Shields in Oct 2022. Had yellow water ever since moving in, water coming through ceiling, a plumbing system in the kitchen which means the sink and washing machine drain into the dishwasher, and a fault plumbing system in the bathroom meaning the street sewer is wafting up all the smells fr the neighbours waste - and many, many more problems! Please avoid and save your sanity. Please feel free to check the photos and videos I have added showing the cowboy building company. Official complaint went in and recognised 15th February 2023. They had to be reminded there was a complaint open, as they were "too busy" to follow their own policy by responding within 10 working days. Had to be reminded on 3 separate occasions that the complaint is still open, as they seem to just be "to busy" (I'm assuming with multiple other complaints about cowboy work) to follow up. Biggest regret of my life is buying with Gentoo Homes.

Love my home but do not love Gentoo Homes at all!! The communication, customer care, and overall experience has been horrific! Not one single snag has been fixed, despite being told things would get sorted/fixed. The people who work at gentoo home clearly do not care until they have your money. From leaks, faulty door mechanisms, wonky wall pillars, lights not working correctly, not allowing external companies know where replacement materials are, and so much more! Still waiting on outside area to be sorted as the fencing still hasnt been fitted correctly and had to fight for it to be put up in the first place! One sales exec fired, a site manager walking away from the company (and thats just on one site within months of each other!), its no surprise they arent delivering a 5 star service!!! Definitely not deserving of a 5 star anything with the experience I and many others have and still currently experiencing. Shocking that they are still getting away with all of this, despite the many complaints they receive on a regular basis!!!

The Fairways South Shields! Quite easily the worst customer service I have ever received, constant delays, constant lies/misinformation from everyone associated with Gentoo and after being messed around by one sales executive for 6 months and lied to on a regular basis you would expect at least an apology, had to raise my complaint to management level in order to receive just a basic apology. Now that my home is ready for completion it is poor quality, when you buy a brand new home you expect it to a least look new! The Tiling is horrendous, overall the finish is not good. I really wouldnt recommend buying one of these properties from Gentoo, unless you like lies, poor quality and an unfinished home even upon completion. I will update this review as necessary, we are now almost 4 weeks after completion and we are still waiting for our home to be finished, fence still not fitted, plants still not planted, tiling is still horrendous and none of our initial snags have been rectified, the two things they did come out to do where done so poorly that I have just started to fix things myself. Check the photos I have uploaded, for the real quality you will be likely to receive. UPDATE* It has now been 5 weeks, Still haven't had a single snag fixed, and no sign that any will be, still no fence, tiling still a mess, the Site Manager is a waste of time, and the new contracts manager just spouts off the same lies and same patter as the previous! I really wouldnt recommend buying a home from Gentoo, but if you have a gambling problem or mental issues and still decide to buy one Id highly recommend using a snagging company as these houses are horrendous! Received an email for the chance to recurve 250 vouchers if I recommend someone to buy an available property and they complete at The Fairways there genuinely isnt anyone I hate that much to do that to them.
