Went there last week with a few friends. Table we were on was propped up with about 9 beer mats so inevitably the table kept wobbling and drinks were being spilled. Granted that was probably bound to happen regardless! Service was so-so, staff were very friendly and polite but quite inattentive considering it wasnt that busy in the restaurant part where we were seated. Food was pretty average but presented well. Seems this place has slipped in standards as you were always guaranteed a decent visit.

With a great setting including a lovely view out of the restaurant windows to the sea etc...it's a real shame the food is so awful. Went for New years day dinner...service from the female staff on duty was polite but that's about it. It's the first time I've ever been to a restaurant and waited so long for the first round of drinks that they arrive after our starters our served! (and they weren't at all busy...we were one of 4/5 tables with 3 waiting staff!) The kids both had sausage, mash and peas. As a chef if you're having trouble with making that kind of food then you should probably look for an alternative career. The mash on the kids dinner, as well as on both of our dinners, was, without a shadow of doubt the worst, driest and most tasteless mash I/we have ever had. The roast dinners myself and my wife had were bland and very disappointing, she left pretty much all of hers. The side bowl of veggies we shared were clearly not fresh...the broccoli was pale green and had lost all of its colour, possibly due to a combination of inadequate storage and length of time it's been there, and it, like everything else, looked like it belonged in the bin, not on a customers plate. Whilst collecting 4 plates of food that had hardly been touched, the waitress asked if everything was ok. Politely, I told her the mash was inedible, she offered an apology, but that was it. Total price was 55 for 2 roast dinners, one round of drinks and kids sausage, mash and peas x 2. I phoned the next day and spoke to a duty manager, told him of my experience and he took my number. Promised a call back but haven't heard back. Very, very disappointing...as it has a great bar and it's brilliantly decorated. The chef/s who cooked and prepared the food for us and let it go out presented the way it was should not be cooking in a restaurant kitchen...in fact they probably shouldn't even be cooking in their own kitchen! Even if they'd been out for New Years eve and not gone to bed there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for serving food that bad. Basically I've paid 55 to find out that I should never eat here ever again. Having said that, If you do sack the chef and get a better one please let me know!

We ate dinner there on Friday! One of the young waiter was quite nervous & spilt our drinks 3 times as he placed them down! I ordered Chicken Slovaki which was extremely dry & my husband ordered loaded nachos and paid for extra pulled pork but the portion of pork was very small. I wont eat there in a hurry again; it was expensive for what we ate. The bar has a nice atmosphere so would recommend for drinks.

Really nice service, and very professional. I went to collect my order of gin that I had preordered from their website. The Distillery is located inside of the Roker hotel, its very warm and visually looks great. The staff were so friendly and helpful and professional at the distillery reception. I would highly recommend using this service. Ive also ordered a further bottle of gin for delivery for a gift so I will get to try that service too.

Best dry gin we've had in ages! Great price and service and delivery is always great. Plus love supporting an independent business. This time we also got the Old Tom and are super excited to try it!
