Thank you Anthony for arranging the installation of the new boiler between Christmas and New Year at short notice. The gas engineer Richard was very polite, efficient and done a great job. The Home Energy Group saved me a lot of cash, as other Boiler installers quotes were considerably higher, Would highly recommend this company. Gerry

Be very careful with this company they promise the world to get the order but fail to deliver. So far the company they used has been investigated by Gas Safe Register and cancelled the compliance form had to get Trading standards involved. The installers don't use core drills for neat holes they just chop out to the nearest brick with an impact chisel dinosaurs in modern age. The installers give cowboys a bad name would certainly not recommend them would have posted earlier and saved other people having problem but due to the ongoing problems I have waited. The installation was carried out in Sept 18 and to this date I have still not received the compliance certificate . Avoid at all costs.

I am being very generous with 1 star. Absolute disgrace Anthony Wilson comes across as the gentleman salesman, he couldn't be further from the truth. The work carried out on central heating still needs attention. The bathroom fitting is a joke I have just cried for weeks. The people he employs are a joke, jobs half done told we had asbestos rope around a solid fuel fire that was supposed to be removed. Not until we researched it on the internet realised we should not be living with this so over a week later we contacted Antony and he sent a couple of guys to remove it but when they arrived one of them said it was NOT asbestos. My husband had to supply tools for assisting them in the removal of old fireplace. These same guys came to do bathroom. Where do I start there is cracks in the wall cladding, the shower has not been fitted correctly and the bathroom floor is flooded all the time, there is a piece of wood wedged under vanity unit, the toilet (not the one promised) is held on to the wall by a piece of wood so eventually the cistern will drop, the actual finish is a disgrace. We are going through civil proceedings now as he has disappeared.

To be clear my review is about Anthony Wilson (Jan 1973) and the Home Energy Group, for which a 1 star review is unduly generous. Anthony may come across as the perfect gentleman, we certainly fell for his charm, but he has left us circa 2k out of pocket, without heating and/or hot water. Furthermore, he knows that I am dependent on my refund to pay another supplier and I have two young daughters living in these conditions. Despite this, and being a father himself, he remains in possession of my money nearly 3months after he failed to undertake our scheduled heating system upgrade and I am sat in a cold living room, in a house surrounded by snow and ice. To add salt to the wounds he seems so blas about the refund and has used the phase I intend on repaying you, which is all well and good, but my Consumers Rights was for that to be within a timely fashion (28 days) and not as a pension in years to come or when his mood suits. Our nightmare started back in October when we asked the boilerguide for assistance with our failing boiler. Several companies came and quoted and we fell for Anthonys charisma. His rate was comparable, not the cheapest, but he had sold us the dream of his customer service and played with my one year old daughter who found him fascinating. He happily visited our house a second time and talked through our concerns, and combined with his exceptional rating on various websites we were sold. We paid up our 50% deposit and to speed up the process transferred the money by bank transfer... what a mistake. It turns out that if you do this the bank will not assist you track down money owed as you willingly paid. In hindsight a credit card or cheque would have been better so at least I would have been partially insured? Once in receipt on my money, Anthony arranged a two day window for our works. We were reassured that this was a conservative timescale and realistically one day should suffice. The day before works should have commenced things began to go wrong and we were contacted to advise that the previous job overran and delayed our start date. Day on day new excuses made until, a week after the works should have commenced two fitters turned up and explained to my wife that they hadnt been paid for their last few jobs and refused undertake anymore work for Anthony. We sort legal and demanded a full refund, offering him a generous 28 days to repay. (Had it been a shop I would have had one in days). In this time he verbally agreed to refund countless times, and a few in writing on texts and email. But, I have now been fobbed of with countless excuses and promises of refund, and several I intend to repay you, so came realise he is all talk and no action. My case has now been referred to Small Claims Court and I await a CCJ. In the meantime, I challenged the Boilerguide for deleting my negative feedback for the Home Energy Group. I am not sure how he managed to get my bad feedback removed, but I it vanished overnight and without warning. To be fair to the boilerguide though, they did contact Anthony several times on our behalf and were equally dumbfounded that a professional seemed so blas about refunds, as if yeah I will refund him when I can be bothered like attitude. I understand that after several conversations on our behalf they were underwhelmed by this ethos and struck him off their website. Yesterday, I made the mistake of posting a photo of his from his Facebook account. This sprung Anthony into life and I finally heard from him after his prolonged silence. I couldnt help but laugh to myself when he tried to portray himself as the victim in this, and how it was against his right to privacy for me to attempt to locate him (albeit for me to take him personally to Court). I guess if you want to take people money, and reading other reviews leave them with shoddy workmanship, I too would want to hide and remain anonymous!! So If I cannot locate him, lets hope that the BBC take up my application for Watchdog. #Watchdog #AnthonyWilson #TheHomeEnergyGroup.co.uk
