We have just completed the first phase (Design & Planning) with Fluent and I've been really impressed. The onboarding process and clarity of phases and prices were transparent and easy to understand. The Co-Ordinators Sarah & Louise were very responsive and helpful with all of my random questions as well! Our Architect - Mircea (Vlad) really listened to our ideas but also made his own suggestions as the expert which helped us shape the design in a way we would never have thought of. Overall, it's been great and I'd highly recommend Fluent if you are looking for an architect for your next project.

Our builder recommended Fluent to design a single rear and double side extension, initial impressions were very good. Tom Millin the director provided some strong recommendations and great ideas and off the back of this commissioned Fluent to do the architectural designs. A comprehensive 3D scan and measurement survey took place again building confidence. Our experience went a little downhill from here. The designers basically drew up what we asked as opposed to providing guidance and advice, overlooking the height of ceilings on the art of the possible with internal door locations etc. Not understanding how structure components would fit in and taking multiple iterations to correct minor detail within the drafted drawings. The planning submission and cycle was brilliant, very smooth and as per SLA (no complaints). Beyond the planning stage Fluent appear to focus attention on obtaining commission through recommending services of other companies. I selected the structural engineer based on Fluents recommendation with the expectation that they knew each other, would work together and produce a coherent design and solution. Unfortunately this was not the case. Youll need to have structure/architecture know how to validate and challenge drawings to avoid being in the mess we were in of structural drawings not matching up with architectural drawings, oversights in heights of door ways with where proposed steel beams would sit etc. From this experience I did my due diligence before default selecting their recommended private Building Control, Im glad I did as online reviews were not great, prices not competitive, and clearly another service of individuals not willing to do anything onsite with everything virtual and remote. I think Fluent may have historically been a great architectural design capability, but feels like they have grown too big, focused too much on their commercial model and other sources of revenue outside of their core architectural service. I wish I had gone with a local company offering more comprehensive structural and design services. For this reason, I cant provide a glowing review and hope I dont experience too many more oversights during the build as were only half way through and they have cost us a lot to date.
