        One of a number of similar swing bridges in the area across the Kennet and Avon canal. They are operated by canal boat users, and it can be amusing to see them being opened and closed.

        For boaters this is a difficult bridge to coordinate with use of the lock one side and the services on the other and no landing in-between. Drivers may have to be patient with boaters here. Boaters in the meantime should know that they cannot operate the bridge between 8am and 9.30am when the road is at its most busy.
