Not going back in anymore, Everytime Ive been in over the past year the prices have increased and the quality deteriorated each time. Often getting products that taste like they are quite old and definitely not fresh.

Went in today for lunch, 8th April. CHAOS ! Serving staff running up and down stairs; table cloth stained; waitress eating while taking customers orders; pastry of quiche not cooked; card machine not working properly; hope I wont get charged twice as eventually paid with cash. Oh, they did reduce the bill for the quiche pastry when we mentioned it to our server, but the old man who appeared to be owner, was overheard and seen talking to his chef joking about our comment, very rude. One ladies toilet out of order and hand dryer not working. Had to ask for condiments and sugar for drinks. Nothing good to say!

It was a great bakery, but they are not doing well at being a cafe, sadly.

Whilst on a day trip to Sudbury the beautiful looking cakes in the window display caught our eye. With the double window shop front with seating one side and cakes the other, along with a 5 star food hygiene rating sticker in the window we were tempted inside. Having entered we discovered an odd smell, reminded us of either stale water or that similar to when you often walk into a charity. However this did not put us off the lovely looking cakes. Unfortunately, whilst the presentation was 10/10, the quality of the cakes did not live up to their appearance. The Belgium Bun, albeit massive, was dry and hard going. The icing was ok, but the bun was far from moist, tasty and what I expected. The Eccles Cake was bursting with Currents, perhaps too many, and too many hard & stringy bits within. If the quality of the cakes lived up to the presentation then it would have been the best cake shop/bakery ever, but unfortunately for us, this was not the case.
