Bankes Arms Inn Studland

We visited on Bank Holiday Monday, and it was busy. Queued for service at the bar, but it was well organised, and we were served promptly. We ordered food and prepared ourselves for the wait. Amazingly, the food arrived much quicker than anticipated. Everything was freshly cooked, hot well presented, and tasted delicious. Awesome service, a credit to the team there.

It's a fabulous pub located in Swanage. There are great range of meals and tap beers availavle. Nice to have several seating options depending on the dining occasion: warm and cozy indoorspace, spacious outdoor area under the tent, and open-air space with the sea view across the road from the pub. Me and my wife ordered "Traditional Fish and Chips" and "Breaded Scampi" and both were beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious! Great and friendly service. The prices is higher side but it's definitely worth it for the location, the view, and the food/beer. Would of been nice if there was a free parking space for the customers.

Firstly, there was no menu available. The only way to obtain a list of food was to photograph specials board. It was not possible to obtain a tab to allow a group of 5 60 year olds to order starters, puddings and coffee's as and when required. Food was VERY expensive. Side plates were not provided - were we required to place our bread on a dirty table? Whilst we ate the expensive food we were accompanied by workmen with loud power tools in an adjacent area. In the end it was a pleasure to leave. I would suggest anyone considering a visit goes elsewhere. Give the Bankes Arms a clear miss. 2nd May 2023.
