Rise and Summit

I did a Trad falling workshop with Rise and Summit. I have come away with massive improvements to my confidence in my ability to place and assess gear. I've also learnt how to place pieces that I was previously unfamiliar with and about the implications of fall factors. Kevin has a wealth of climbing knowledge and experience that he imparts in a very clear manner. The course is structured so that the first part of the session is improving gear placement and assessment at ground level. By the time we got off the ground in the afternoon we all had improved our understanding of trad gear placements and were then able to put it to the test with the peace of mind afforded by the back up safety system. Furthermore the way the it worked meant we got 1 to 1 attention whilst climbing. I highly recommend this course for anyone looking to improve their trad climbing confidence.

The trad climbing course was very well thought-out and delivered with high standards. The instructor adapted the the session following our levels and abilities whilst keeping it challenging. A great two days learning to lead trad. The pace and content of the course was tailored to the group and pushed us just the right amount. The team were knowledgable, friendly and endlessly patient. Thanks for a great course I will definitely use Rise and Summit for any future training needs.

Thoroughly enjoyed the 2 day (Advanced Scrambling) experience of learning more roped scrambling skills with my qualified instructor Karl. The locations and pace were adapted to suit my style and ability, and also the weather conditions. I learnt a great deal of different safety methods to employ depending on the situation. Well worth the money and travel. Many thanks
