    Ive been working with John for about 18 months now. I was a consistent runner but arguably lacking in direction which meant I wasnt achieving any genuinely challenging goals. Johns training programmes, guidance and support have made an enormous difference to the efficiency of my training and improved my pace. Im running a 10k time of 46mins which is about as quick as I could do when I was 28 Im now 40!

    John coached me to a second place finish for my first trail race and ultramarathon, providing me with a custom plan and frequent feedback. Having been a casual runner for two decades, doing all my race training diy, getting John as a coach has been a game changer. I arrived at the start line well-prepared and injury-free. I could never have gotten a podium finish without Johns coaching and motivation to get through the hard miles. He is now coaching me to prepare for a road half marathon.

    Since working with John, Ive definitely increased the number of minutes Ive spent in physical discomfort, but its been offset by a greater sense of focus and each week I feel like Im ticking off new personal achievements - speed, control, mental approach. John is clear and direct in his approach. He is supportive but does not tolerate excuses (of which I offered many initially). Would recommend for those who have big goals but are (like me) incapable of facing into their weaknesses alone!!

    I have been coached by John over the last 9 weeks with a view to sneaking under 20 minutes for a 5k. It has without doubt been the most productive time I have ever spent running. Having started off as a very sedate, pot bellied, ex 'couple of times a week runner' with a baseline 5k time of 22:48 minutes (followed by much dry heaving on the pavement), John has managed to coach me to a 20:27 5k with something left in the tank in just under 9 weeks. This is without so much as a whiff of injury. His emphasis has always been on running sensibly and efficiently. He provides useful and extremely timely feedback following every run and I can honestly say that his techniques have changed the way that I run and will continue to run from now on. I look forward to "race" day at the end of this month and feel confident I'll break that dam 20minutes! I'll certainly be back for help with my next goal of a sub 40 10k.
