I was served by a very lovely lady and wanted to change a big gas bottle for a smaller bottle. The tall man that I assume was in change came over and flatly said no! He was stood right next to me but wouldnt look me in the eye or actually speak to me. He told the lady in front of us who then had to repeat what hed said, even though I heard everything. He was the most unhelpful and rude shop assistant Ive ever had the misfortune to be served by. My husband went down after and again was stonewalled by the same man who wrongly accused the lady of telling me wrong. In the end my husband went to the main office at Eastington and eventually returned the bigger gas bottle for a smaller one. Again not even that helpful there. I will never go back to the John Stayte shop in Stroud again!

Awful service. John Staytes Services provided me a faulty gas bottle and won't send anyone to resolve the issue for 24hours which means we have no heating in JANUARY. Customer services said 'so you want us to send someone after they've had a day of work and want their tea' and I replied that yes, I felt someone local could come and help because I now have no heating in the middle of January and I have also had a long day at work. I also want my tea haha! They blamed Calor gas, but seeing as they have taken 70+ from me, I feel it is their responsibility to find a solution. As a long standing customer, I'd have expected more from them. The drivers are really decent people and I'm sure if she could have asked, they'd have helped me. Looks like I am staying in a hotel for the night and I shall be passing on the cost considering the receptionists inability to problem-solve. What has happened to common decency of trying to help our neighbours rather than 'it's 4pm so no'... I wouldn't have minded if she could have been bothered to even ask them and done her best however an outright no that she wont even ask them is silly. I can only assume it was really her who wanted her dinner...
