A surprising jewel in the crown of Stroud. Rather cunningly located on the top of the Five Valleys Car Park, to which is a rather tortuous route of traffic negotiation. Stroud Bowl is sort of divided into two - the food/drink/tv/pool area as you come in & then the bowling lanes towards the back of the building. Very friendly staff who do their best to help with any bowling queries. An enjoyable time out for serious &/or casual bowlers.

You neededa code to buse thr toilets, alley was dark, some lanes you had the pins in neon light, had silly lightinf running from pins to bowler.... Confusing forvthis old git. Nice to be on an alley where the pins are not on strings.

Somewhat tired bowling alley. We visited during the holidays and it was pretty busy. There are maybe around 20 lanes here, so booking, I'm sure, is essential during peak times. This is one of those bowling alleys where you have to wear their bowling shoes (which seems somewhat alien now given so many places let you wear your normal shoes). The bowling balls were in good condition. There are just a few amusements machines here and a large number of pool tables. Plus a bar. It's right next to a car park also (the entrance to the alley is from the top of the car park).
