For employees it looks like the traffic at shift changes might get interesting, so it's a shame that whilst there is some decent thought put into cycle access with a cycle path that goes parallel with the internal access road, and reasonable cycle parking (position and access could be better, but on the whole it's very existence is positive) but it only starts once on site. There is no cycle link outside of Mercia Park. To get to Appleby Magna you get kicked straight onto Junction 11 of the M42 with the A444. The footpath lasts a bit longer, but even that ends about 200m after you've left the junction just after you've passed the "Appleby Magna" sign. If you take the A444 South instead the footpath ends even sooner, but at least it gets you to the J11 services . Heading South on the B5493 towards Tamworth (GMaps suggests the centre of Tamworth is a 45min cycle of 8+ miles - though with an ebike limited to 15mph you'll easily get that to less than 30mins) you can avoid J11 thanks to a shared path that avoids the main entrance to Mercia Park, but it simply spits you (cyclist or pedestrian) straight out onto this nice new Tarmac laid down for this entrance for cars... that will barely use it (it's gated and is presumably reserved for emergencies, though you can bet people will park in it ). This B road is not pleasant to cycle or walk on. Forget going North on the A444, there's nothing nice to be said, though there might be a leisure footpath rout that brings you out a separate entrance along here... but no further provision once you're there. If JLR (it's essentially their site) want some to cycle or walk they need some serious discussions with the local councils, who won't know what they're doing . Some great efforts, but sadly an extreme lack of joined up thinking with other parties.

Destroying the countryside! Why do they need to create so much light pollution? It is awful especially being near the national forest and what has this done to the local wildlife and habitats? With a time of uncertainty of resources for electricity, why do they need so many lights on, if any at all? Yet alone those traffic lights on the island, there is going to be accidents on that island now, yet alone the amount of extra CO2 due to waiting an unnecessarily amount of time for the lights to change when there's no need for them. Poor planning and plenty of corporate greed! Ruined a beautiful piece of countryside and now it's full of horrific buildings and lights galore, disgusting!
