(Translated by Google) This is a very quiet private housing estate. The roads in the estate are well paved, there is a lake, and the environment along the lake is beautiful. It only takes a few minutes to drive to Strensall. There are tesco express, pharmacy, restaurants, and garages in the area. Barber shop, school, church, there are 2 bus lines that shuttle through York, a small town, it can be regarded as a complete set. It is only a ten-minute drive from the center of York. There is also a large park in Strensall with free parking lot. The environment in the park is beautiful and there are many big trees for citizens to walk their dogs, walk, run and hike for 1 to 2 hours. 3 nights in Ivy Cottage Sept 2020. Would I recommend, yes. There is a 'but' although I'll start with the positives. Close to York, reasonably priced, has a hot tub, decent sized property (one bedroomed cabin). Dog friendly too. The downsides.....we arrived in the rain, followed all instructions but the key safe attached to the property wouldn't open, I'm short, we had been given the wrong code to access it so got soaked trying. Immediately noticed that the tiled cooker back splash was covered in grease, I didn't clean it but didn't use the cooker anyway. Most things you'd need are inside, washing up liquid, bin bags, toilet roll etc etc so you only need to bring towels although they do provide towels too. There isn't anywhere really to walk to, you have to drive. The entrance is on a 60mph road so watch out if you do walk over it. I took the dog for a walk but only just a very short toilet walk as there isn't really anywhere to walk to or any pavements. Not an issue if you don't have a dog.
