Golden House Chinese Restaurant

Food was shocking. Ordered food arrived 4 minutes later just frozen rubbish from oriental whole sale deep fried. Staff just sitting on their phones and we was the only customers. No chop sticks , when requested they came with no wrapping so no idea if clean. No bowls side plates or dipping sauces. This is the worst Chinese ever , actually its no where near authentic Chinese at all. They should be embarrassed. AVOID

We were warmly welcomed into the very clean and tidy dining area. Almost seemed like no one ever goes in there. My colleague and I are renowned for bringing the party with us, but the atmosphere on this occasion was sadly lacking. Maybe just turn the lights down a bit? No chopsticks or finger bowls in sight. Soup for a starter was enjoyable, but a portion of only two ribs seemed a bit mean. Main courses, unfortunately, barely edible. Prawn crackers not much better. The takeaway side seemed to be popular - amusing telephone conversations and cigarette smoke drifting from the kitchen. Overall, very disappointing. Two stars. One for the novelty of being served by a gentleman wearing a baseball cap, the other because nobody died.

Just the best Chinese food around for miles! We are regulars since we discovered this gem last year. The food is exquisite! Try their fabulous hand made spring rolls and if youve never had crispy seaweed I can highly recommend it, its not greasy at all , just tiny strands of salty sweetness and incredibly moreish! I always have the vegetarian chow mien and Barry has the chicken version. The service is super swift, just the ticket after a long day. There is always a queue for for their take away service so get there early!
