Carl Jackson Martial Arts/ CJMA (JKD-Kali- Kickboxing)

I have been a student of Carl for over 1.5 year. Carl is a very experienced and skilful martial artist and a great instructor. He holds instructorships in many martial art styles including Wing Chun, JKD, Kickboxing, Kali under great grandmasters eg. Dan Inosanto, Bob Breen, Samuel Kwok, David Onuma. He also holds multiple competition achievements including 3 European Championships in full contact stick fighting. I attend classes regularly, they are fantastic & include weapons and empty hand. In weapon classes we learn single / double stick, stick & knife. We also spar with padded sticks which we all enjoy :-) Carl's stick skills are really impressive! In the Empty hand classes we learn explosive JKD / Kali / Kickboxing! We do lots of pads and work on physical condition. I highly recommend Carl, he is a great instructor, who will teach you effective martial arts and boost your self defense ability and fitness!

My little boy started at the end of last year and absolutely loves it! He wakes every Thursday so excited to go to his class. As he was a very reluctant participant in any other class, this has been so good for him. 5+ stars!

My son loves his training and has learnt so much. I love how Carls classes arent just about the physical training, he really talks to the children about discipline, knowledge, courage and many other things. I highly recommend the training.

TL:DR This is a place for both beginners and advanced students. Guro Carl is outstanding, having a great technique, he cares for his students and he studies all sorts of FMA schools/systems and other martial arts. Also, the whole group is great, with a great culture, a very friendly and supportive bunch. LONG VERSION I have been doing martial arts since 1999 and FMA since 2009 and when I came to London, I looked for an academy that taught the Lacoste Inosanto school/system, and I found Guro Carl. Right from the first class (in Shoreditch, in another club), it was clear Carls maturity/confidence as a teacher and as a martial artist. Moreover, he can teach complex techniques in a simple way. A few months after I started training, the pandemic broke out, and we moved to online training only. Still, it was a great experience (we still do online training until now), and Guro Carl adapted the classes to prioritize all techniques that can be practised solo. Now, I have a whole set of FMA exercises that can be done in a small room. In 2022, I officially joined the CJMA club, and from the start I could feel the great group culture that Guro Carl built. Everyone was very friendly, collaborative and supportive. Also, it is important to say that, although the classes are friendly and relaxed, there is respect and discipline. If you are looking for a great place to learn FMA and Jeet Kune Do, look no further.
