Staybridge Suites London - Stratford City, an IHG Hotel

A nice hotel, with wonderful panorama over London but it used to be - now it's hard to see The City, O2 or Canary Wharf - new scrapers are being build nearby - so look at photos as it was. There is a small but very well equipped gym, not busy so nice to practise especially early in the morning. Good breakfast, really tasty with rather great choice, the Social 3 times a week now changed into a voucher for a drink - so it's missing this nice atmosphere of guests from the whole world just chatting. I hope it'll be back. A room is big with comfy beds, The staff has changed totally but they try to be nice and helpful. What's missing coffee and tea round the clock. Westfield mall in 10 meters. Easy access by Tube.

We wanted to extend our stay by one more night. I expected a rush for half term, therefore phoned this property beforehand. The gentleman assured me that could be done at the time of check in easily! Hence we planned our return journey, trusting some verbal assurance. Now when we checked in were told that they dont have vacancy! I appreciate that the hotel is exceptionally busy, but why false assurances? Thats highly unethical, though we dont have any proof for this. This is our fifth stay with Staybridge, and assured our last. Not to mention the receptionist who hung up mid sentence! I have never reviewed anything negative, but you should definitely reflect Staybridge.
