We bought a new build built by Lindum and were initially impressed by the layout and design of the property. The exterior is nice and driveway well finished and thought out for the three properties. However fairly quickly we began to find issues. Some were to be expected with a new build such as settlement cracks etc. What has frustrated us is that a lot of areas have been poorly finished, kitchen and bathrooms in particular. The en-suite tiling was left unfinished and all toilet seats are coming loose or off after a year and a half. Various edging in the shower and bath has been done to avoid further damp. The kitchen looks good from the outside however is very poorly fitted and just seems like it was rushed. For example the dishwasher catches on the board below meaning it needs a kick each time. Buying a new build we knew there would be some issues however the customer care after responding to the issues within 6 months (as classified by the contract) was absolutely shocking. Phone calls and emails went unanswered and when finally we got through, they were rude to my other half. We eventually had our solicitors pursue them for months in order to get a settlement to cover the work (which did not cover what needed to be done) and they clearly did not apologise for the shoddy finish. It is a shame as it is a nicely designed house and works well for us. Little things continuing to pop up are so frustrating and the awful aftercare leaves a sour taste. Check closely when buying one of their properties.
