Have not fished Stowting for a couple of years however felt compelled to re-submit a review of the venue Stowting is located just 15 minutes from Dover and only 5 minutes from Folkestone. It is the closest fly fishing venue for people who live in the south east of England. Its a pleasant venue in a hidden away spot in the bottom of the valley just past the tiger inn pub . Its a very quiet peaceful place that ideally suits someone who likes fishing a 4-6 weight fly rod and have a nice relaxing session fishing buzzers or dry fly (Damsels also work very well). Carol stocks mainly rainbow trout with the odd brown trout and the fish at Stowting are in the water long enough to switch into natural foods so thats the reason why buzzers and dry fly work so well there. Its a small water - I think its about 2 acres with lots of variety of depths throughout - the far end is more shallow and works well with dry fly such as klinkhammer or cdc buzzers. The end closest to the house is surprisingly deep and responds well to small bead head nymphs. Stowting is mainly a catch and release water where a full day ticket is 6 fish catch and release and I believe half a day is 4 fish. You can take fish home and this will be a separate charge per pound . I found the best fishing at Stowting for me personally was during the spring months when I had some really pleasant evenings fishing damsels Stowting is a nice little water that is unlike any other venue locally - Give it a go you might enjoy it - (Carol I apologise for my previous review Chad)

Haven't fished Stowting lately but was pleasantly surprised when I went there last Tuesday. Plenty of good quality hard fighting fish that were very willing to take a dry fly or emerger. A most enjoyable few hours with my old friend Danny.
