St Peter's and St Mary's Church Stowmarket

Our family connection goes back to the 1930s when my father was fostered by a couple living in church walk. We have often paid a visit with my late parents and when we have been in the area. Wonderful old church with very friendly wardens and church cafe and beautiful yearly Christmas tree event. This is a church really putting itself at the heart of Stowmarket community.

Grade 1 listed Church originally mentioned in the Domesday Book though the parts of the current building date only to the mid 14th century . Unfortunately closed when I visited but still pleased to have seen it . Very impressive with the spire dominating the skyline .
