I've been learning with Joe since March 2022 and feel I've made huge steps! Having never played an instrument prior I amaze myself on how far I've come in such a short space. I can now read music!! Joe is a fantastic teacher of music who has terrific patience and awareness. Joe appreciates that all students are different and takes time to observe how I understand the guitar, he then gives me tips that help me progress quicker - which is obviously my ultimate goal. He even has his own book!!! Go buy it! Thanks Smokey Joe you the man!

I'm a beginner with little prior knowledge in music. Before I start taking lessons with Joe, I was really struggling and lessons from Joe dramatically improved my learning experience. Joe is very patient and always try to explain things carefully. He always answers my questions in the most clear fashion. Joe teaches me how to play and at the same time teaches me music theory which helps me understand things better. He pushes me to explore more and work hard but at the same time keeps things interesting and fun. The techniques I learnt in the lessons really helped me to learn the songs I enjoy. His enthusiasm also motivates me to get better at playing. In addition to all this, I really appreciate him for obliging my song request every time! In addition, the conversation after classes are very enjoyable and fun! I would recommend Joe's lessons to anyone who wants to improve their guitar skills! I'll keep taking lessons from Joe and have fun with guitar!

Joe, is one of the greatest guitar tutors i know. He plans every lesson designing it for each students individual's needs. He is friendly, patient and down to earth making learning a joy, and doesn't make you feel terrible if you made a mistake (like previous teachers i've had). He taught me from scratch, and covered chords, tab, sight reading, and improvisation. We covered different genres from classical to rock. I don't know how he does it, but he works wonders on shy students. I 100% recommend him to anyone, if you're wanting to learn yourself, or your child is begging for lessons, then go for Joe, it'll be the best decision you'll make. Honestly the progress you'll make will be amazing, i'm so glad i learnt with him. He even came with me to help me find my first guitar.
