Fish (less) pie 8.50 for the fish pie. Horrid sloppy tasteless mash. Three tiny pieces of pink fish (?). Supposedly salmon. We forked it over and that was all that was in there. Don't be fooled by the fancy packaging, it's by far the best bit.

Incredibly overpriced and average-tasting ready meals. I think this company is riding its luck on marketing itself as a high-end ready meal producer to people who have more money than sense, or taste. It most likely survives on posh people who think that eating a ready meal is not acceptable, UNLESS it has a personal name on some fancy packaging and costs a lot of money. The question they should ask themselves is: Who is Charlie Bingham? Hes not a high-end chef, hes just a bloke who started a ready meal company which targeted posh people. Its apparent to me that his main audience are posh folk who cant or dont want to cook, and when they need to buy a ready meal, they will buy his because its top-shelf expensive in nice packaging. Then they feel like they are consuming something other than a ready meal and therefore its acceptable to serve to family and friends. Great marketing idea; selling a non-supermarket name at a very high price at average costs to produce. Ive tried the lasagne, and Lidls Duluxe Lasagne is WAY better than Bighams. If you dont believe me, do a taste test. What a Charlie!

Dear Charlie, Ive never done anything like this before, so I do apologise for writing this to someone whom I regard as always providing 1st-rate food and has done for many years. Im a great fan! Having said that, I dont know what happened to your fish pie! I picked it up quickly in Waitrose, not thinking that it would be different from your usual one ( it was part of a meal deal, but I didnt need the deal and I didnt have time to get it from the usual spot. Handy for us on this occasion. My goodness! My husband never complains but on this occasion .. in his 2/3 portion he had 1prawn and no fish, I had very, very little too and no prawns. Please just reassure me that your usual pie is different from the meal deal! I dont do meal deals, a mistake this time on my part, but I didnt realise there would be such a difference in the quality. Please reassure me that your usual fish pie is different from your meal deal and then Ill be happy to continue using it. Yours sincerely Dorothy
