Scar house has amazing history. Hundreds of navvies were involved in the construction of this reservoir and they lived in cramped temporary conditions on the site for the duration of the construction. A train ran from Pateley bridge and beyond to transport workers and materials to and fro. Its a stunning remote location not to be missed

Absolutely incredible engineering. Great circular walk of around 4 miles that goes around the lower reservoir.

Great place to visit, but not so good when the water levels are so low. Beautiful views and you can walk right across the top of the dam
