St Marys review A few weeks ago I had the misfortune to rupture my Achilles tendon. A respite stay of 12 days was arranged for me and I have to say my stay at the home which was a complete surprise to me - was fine and I had such fun with the carers and the nuns. Sister Conleth in particular became a very good friend and was so supportive and inspirational. It was a delight getting to know her. The staff were all very caring and excelled in their care, encouragement and support; all with good grace and humour and I now have many there who I regard as good friends. Tasty meals are available in a well presented restaurant-like dining room and there is an activities room leading to a very attractive conservatory and garden. It is strangely almost a privilege to experience such an upset in life. To be deemed worthy of care and kindnesses and to be touched by the love of your family, friends and carers is a (hopefully) rare but nevertheless gratifying yet deeply humbling experience. It is always easier of course knowing that ones ailment is not life-threatening and that one will be coming out so to speak, however for those whose sun is descending it is Im sure very comforting to know one is surrounded by carer friends and not be alone. Be assured that anyone that I encounter with the prospect of a stay at St. Marys will be furnished with the greatest of praise they will always do whatever they can for you - St Marys is one of the best!
