This place is unprofessional, a friend of mine had an interview here and refused the job because of the way the staff were speaking to people. Another person I know has left because of residents receiving inadequate care and staff members being treated poorly. Untrained and inexperienced individuals being allowed to work with residents which has resulted in unnecessary falls and injuries. I wouldnt put my dog in here let alone my mum. In the words of someone who has recently left the home as a carer: Never have I ever been treated so poorly by management in any other workplace before this home. From bullying, verbal abuse and lack of care, to problems regarding on-time payments, lack of staff and refusal to recognise that the care assistants need more support!! There is a complete lack of care for staff well-being and health. Often times, words received by the manager are you arent good enough or lying to cover up for a bully. Would have thought nearly 10 resignations and 4 members of staff on sick leave would have been enough to address the problem but unfortunately not. Would not recommend anyone to work here.

My mother has been at Stonehouse for just over three years now. We are happy that we moved Mum to this home from another home as she is now receiving excellent care . The staff ( without exception) carry out their duties without any fuss and they have become our friends and they genuinely have our Mums best interests at heart. Mum really enjoys all the regular activities which apart from singing have included little baby chicks at Easter and various arts and craft days.They have regular get togethers for residents and families and we have been to many outdoor functions and recently a smashing Queens Jubilee Garden party and a summer Western themed BBQ in the lovely grounds. Mum is always clean and tidy and I should also add was well looked after during lockdown when the Home did everything they could to protect all residents from Covid. We were able to visit from the outside looking in early on and once regulations permitted recommenced our visits indoors with appropriate tests and protective clothing. The food provided is really very good and residents get a choice daily of whatever is on the menu. My Mum likes having her hair done and this is something she looks forward to at regular intervals. The home is kept clean and carpets and chairs have all been renewed recently or refurbished and the large rotunda lounge totally renovated to a high standard. The Home gets in touch with us whenever Mum is not well and they arrange whatever Medical treatment Mum might need and keep us advised. If a Doctor is needed the home has appropriate contacts and there are regular visits by a Medical practitioner as required. Our family would recommend Stonehouse to any family whose loved ones sadly now need the care that they can no longer receive at home. We want to thank everyone at Stonehouse for taking such good care of our Mum.
