The girls who work here are fantastic. I have two puppies, who I decided to take for a walk on downs bank (just up the road from the nursery). It's absolutely lovely there and we enjoyed a nice quiet hours walk. The dogs played off the leads, running about the fields, frolicing and sniffing all that was to be sniffed. On the way back, the youngest pup (just a 3 month old corgi) decided she didn't want to walk much more and so opted to be carried the rest of the distance back to the car. Once we'd got back in the car and both pups were strapped in safely (it's not just humans who need to be safe in the car) the youngest one started whimpering. I put this down to her being tired and a bit cheeky (also the other dog, a two year old Boston terrier was virtually standing on top of her, he's never quite mastered the art of lying down in the car) so off we went home. Well, I should have paid more attention to these little cries she was letting out. Not two minutes after we had set off did the youngest pup decided to vomit all over the car. I don't mean a little bit, I mean a lot. And not in a handy place either. She decided to vomit in between the passenger and driver seats. Not once, not twice, but three times. And not normally puppy sick. This resembled cow patt. Both in looks and smell. All the sniffing in the fields must have also entailed the eating of cow patt, because it was now lining the inside of my car. Now, I'm not one for keeping a clean car in the first place, it generally looks as if someone has been living out of it for the past month, but this was even too much for me. So I pulled over at the first safe place I could find. I managed to find a few napkins left over from the numerous McDonalds that had been consumed in the car since it had last been cleaned, which was a few, but it was nowhere near enough to clean up the monstrosity that had errupted from this cute little puppies insides. Now you may be wondering why this is put with a 5 star review of Meaford Day nursery. Well, it just so happens that the safe place I found to pull over was right outside of said nursery. And how lucky I was to have found them. Once I'd realised that the copious amounts of napkins I had were not going to cut the cloth in this situation, I felt I had no option but to ask for help. And oh how they delivered! The girls supplied me with hand towels, baby wipes, gloves and disinfectant, all with a smile on their faces. Much to my relief, this managed to clean the car to quite a reasonable standard (still not enough for me to not have it valeted). These girls could have easily turned me away in my moment of need, and sent me driving the 20 minute ride home, watery eyes from the smell of mixed vomit and cow patt. But they didn't. They were more the helpful. If they are as kind and caring towards the children as there were to a lowly girl with hands covered in puppy sick, then any child would be lucky to attend this nursery. And incase anyone is wondering. Both pups are fine. They're sleeping off their adventures. Jan 18th, 2018
