Drove over from the east Midlands this morning, 15c no rain forecast. I'd paid in advance through the website yesterday. Arrived to be greated by a friendly chap who advised me the course was closed as its waterlogged. He told me all members were notified this morning. As a visitor who they had taken both my email address and phone number I was suprised that I hadn't been contacted or recieved a refund as it was almost Midday tee off so plenty of time to notify me. I was pointed in the direction of where to get my refund and was greated by two ladies at desks. I explained I'd arrived and obviously it's shut so needed a refund. She asked if I'd like to just book a different day but as I'd travelled an hour and a half I just wanted my refund, I'd genuinely been polite to this point, then the lady literally laughed at me saying 'did you not think to check the website this morning' well obviously not. I've played for 20years all over and never had customer service like it, if I checked a course was open everytime I'd paid in advance and the weather was 15C and no rain forecast it would be almost everytime you play. A good clue for me would have been a refund, email of cancellation or a phone call maybe. Not like they were busy as it was closed. In honesty I lost my temper at this point which is my fault, but staff laughing at you when until that point you'd been polite inspite of the lack of communication was too much. Not even a sorry about that etc just laughter. It was my first visit here, I've seen reviews saying the drainage is good, but that's clearly an issue as is the customer service. Won't be trying again, I wouldn't bother if I were you either
