The Hen's Dens at Orchard Organic Farm

Hen's Dens is a nice little campsite with good facilities in a quiet location. Located approx 4 miles from Shaldon and 1 mile from the SWCP it is ideal to park up the van and then walk or catch the bus to get around, a bit too hilly for cycling unless you have an electric bike. There is a pub serving good food and a village shop in Stokeinteignhead about 1 mile away. The site appears to be a work in progress but with a few small changes could be a great campsite. The 6 campervan pitches are sloping, quite rough and a mix of grass and mud. When we arrived it was wet and we only just got the van on to the pitch, a bit of wheel spinning! If the pitches were levelled and gravelled that would eliminate this problem and would prevent getting mud in the van! The toilet shower facilities were warm with plenty of hot water but were not cleaned in the 5 days that we were there. The half glass doors don't provide much privacy in the bathrooms when the light is on. Despite these small issues we would definitely use the site again.
