I broke down and had RAC attend after waiting 3 hours. The RAC man was nice but he was offering to take me to London to London for 470 so I called Mansfield group. I spoke to Saeed at the Mansfield group who quoted 250+ vat so I said ok. On that basis I let the RAC man go who drove off.
Saeed comes back and said he misquoted and it would be 750 + VAT!!!! Given we had a verbal agreement I asked if he would honour it. He said no. I said I let the cheaper RAC man go after waiting for three hours for him and if I call RAC again it would be another 3 hours. He said the price is the price.
So I asked to to speak to his manager. Rob said it was a mistake and when I asked him to honour the agreement he said he can't and said he understands I am stressed because of the situation. I told him not to gaslight me as the problem was him misquoting. I told him if he can't arrange to honour it I will write a review on google. He said he can't see why I should write a review!
Well here it is . If you need recovery use an alternative - many are cheaper than Mansfield and provide a better service!
