My mum and dad entered the home over a year ago, dad was a-diabetic and was also suffering from the latter stages of Parkinson's, mum has an advancing case of Dementia, dad sadly passed away last November and his short time there was his best in the recent weeks, he was looked after cared for and his every need catered for. Mum has not been easy for the staff on occasion however they have cared for her superbly and after a time has accepted that this is her home and that the staff are her friends more than carers. I cannot thank everyone at the home enough for looking after her, Thank you all so much.

My brother went into this home at the end of January. On one occasion when I went to visit him with my twin brother in the lounge a carer gave him half a piece of a currant bun without a wrapper out of her hand. It wasn't even on a piece of kitchen roll. She then put the other half on a table for another resident. (Hygiene??) During the day as lockdown came in force that night this home was still accepting visitors for 30 minutes even though over 70's were advised to isolate?? I wasn't surprised when my brother caught the virus!! The afternoon my brother passed away in his room last month I went to see him with my twin brother and we were shocked to see how they'd left him. We felt that they didn't have any respect for my brother or ourselves. No-one offered any condolences in fact they seemed to keep their distance as much as possible. I certainly wouldn't recommend this home as I think the staff need more training in this type of caring.
