Whilst standing in the queue a staff member asked me to come around to the side window to be served. There were two people standing behind me blocking me in, so in order to keep my distance I walked forwards choosing to pass just one person who had been served and was now leaving. At this point I heard another staff member (Wendy) comment loudly "See, that's what I mean, there's no point, you might as well save your breath." The women then began moaning between themselves about me whilst I was being served and continued doing so whilst I was leaving. I have never been so insulted by shop staff and their ongoing incompetence whilst performing basic tasks is unbelievable.
It is physically impossible to keep 1 metre apart in this store because the aisles are too narrow and there is merchandise everywhere around the tills impeding your exit. Why not use your brains and move some stock so people can socially distance?
FAO Wendy: I was wearing a face mask, not earplugs. It's the height of ignorance to be serving customers whilst chatting with colleagues. With your appalling manners and non-existent customer service skills, I would suggest that working with the public isn't for you. Maybe you need to find another job; I hear the mortuaries have plenty of vacancies at the moment...at least your customers wouldn't be forced to listen to your constant moaning.
