Lomax Halls - Student Accommodation in Stoke-on-Trent

Avoid renting here! My son is a student at Staffordshire university and has had no end of problems with basic maintenance issues! Without going into an extensive list Ill just mention the main points. No heating or hot water over the winter period, small heaters provided that were inadequate and more recently windows leaking causing damp carpets and subsequent black mould. Communication is poor between the landlord and the students. Students are waiting weeks for repairs to be actioned but are quick enough to take the 125 per week in rent. These issues are now having an impact on his desire to remain in Stoke at Stafford university and he is now looking at other options (paying for alternative accommodation or moving universities). The Halls are also located in a drug ridden part of the town, think carefully and visit the area before committing!

After a misunderstanding my niece was finally happy with her halls. I must say the manager went completely out of her way even staying later at work. Her rooms is really nice. I felt better knowing the building also has a security guard. It is meters away from the shops. Her room was very clean and this was an important factor. Book directly and not through an agency is m advice.
