I've been training here since April 2019 and it's brilliant. Simon is an excellent teacher, hugely knowledgeable and experienced. He conveys the techniques (and the theories behind them) in a clear, simple manner. Loads of classes on the timetable for bjj, submission wrestling & striking, multiple black belts, great training partners and everyone is very helpful if you need a pointer here and there too. My 8yo daughter loves the kids classes! Highly recommended

First of all, I want to say thank you to Simon and everyone at McGovern Academy for the warm welcome. I've been going here now for 5 weeks or so now myself and my two kids a couple weeks longer than me. The kids always have a good time and are always excited whenever it is jiu-jitsu day for them! Becky (who teaches the kids classes) has been amazing to them! As for myself, I am currently doing the BJJ fundamentals and just started to do other classes and Simon has been very thorough and patient with his explanations and demonstrations which helps me feel at ease when practising the varying techniques. Everyone else who is there (special shout out to Ben, Sam and Craig!) has been amazing from top to bottom with helping me with anything I ask for whether it be going over techniques, theory or sparring. I would highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of joining here!
