The Ark

I just left this shop really upset and wanted to share this to future customers and to the owners. I am a local and brought my son some gifts just before Christmas. I was going back today to buy a few more I had my eye on and did not buy at the time. As I was going towards the toy section because there were customers near the till my bag accidentally brushed the earring display and a few fell on the ground. By the time I realised what happened and the male at the till was picking them up. I apologised Im really sorry twice no damage was done to the items - to which he responded dont worry Ill just lean down. I left what I was looking at (which I would have brought along with a few others) and left. This comment was completely unnecessary and rude as it was an accident and no loss/ damage was incurred to the items that fell. Such incidents occur. The shop is very small. Also you really do not know what kind of day your customer has had or the affect one comment could have on the rest of their day/evening. You are a feel good gift shop and the experience I just had was far from it.

Used to be decent but think it might have closed down now? Travelled there today to get a card for my father and it was closed (12 noon on a Wednesday).

Horrible customer service, we were told:guys, if you are actually buying something I dont mind waiting but we are about to close. We were about to buy two items but with this horrible attitude, no way!

Excellent independent shop, keeps up to date with all seasons. Has a wide variety of gifts and items including many eco friendly and quirky stuff. Plus the owner is amazing.
