Stepping Hill Maternity Unit

I Just wanted to say massive thank you to all staff and midwives at Stepping Hill ! The level of care and support we have received was just beyond our expectations and I couldnt ask for better delivery and experience. Special thank you to Amy who delivered our baby boy- she was brilliant and made my first labour so much easier and stress free. We had to stay few days in just before Xmas and we have been given private room which was great. Everyone was so supportive and dedicated and we are very grateful for everything .

The Maternity Services at Stepping Hill have been amazing, from the care I had during my pregnancy to the birth and support after birth. All of the midwives were very knowledgable and friendly, I felt I was in control of my care by being given options. The staff work so hard and are very dedicated to the high level of care they give. We couldnt be more grateful for the support we received, not only me as a mother but my husband was also made to feel supported!

The antenatal clinic down stairs on first floor is absolutely shocking. Make you appointments for 10.30 and nearly an hour and half later still not been seen. No one knows whats going on, its a disgrace.

We highly rate Stepping Hill maternity services. We had multiple check-ups with triage ahead of our due date and were always seen very quickly at different times of day/night. Our birth preferences with the birth centre didn't go as planned but birth centre/delivery suite staff and the doctor/anaesthetist/midwifes we saw helped us feel that we still had the birth we wanted and delivered our beautiful baby boy. It would be good if the option to request private rooms could be reinstated post-Covid but staff on the wards were very helpful during our stay. The only negative is parking. We didn't expect to be able to get a car parking space during the daytime but even being picked up from the front of maternity was extremely dangerous due to multiple people parking where there were no spaces leaving no room to get out safely. However, we did hear maternity ward staff reporting this - the hospital should look to resolve this ASAP. Thanks again to everyone at Stepping Hill maternity.
