I've been going through a very emotional time during the past few weeks, and Matt asked about me while I was waiting for my order. That meant a lot to me, and I mean a lot. The meal was prepared to perfection, and I enjoyed it. It made me a tad bit relieved, thank you. :'-) I'll be back again. Best enjoyed with HP sauce.

2.90 for a portion of chips. I don't begrudge paying that cost. I understand costs are rising. What I don't take to kindly too is getting a very small portion due to the chip pan being empty. Instead of offering the chance for me to wait for fresh They just passed me the box. I did make a comment but young lad just shrugged his shoulders. Shame because the owner had been out front and was very friendly. But small things like this will put customers off. With costs of running business rising I'd think that small business like these would be falling over themselves to provide top class service to customers so they will return

Was charged 4.90 for a 'regular' chips and gravy. Thought they'd overcharged me by mistake. Turns out I wasn't overcharged. 3.10 for the chips, plus an extra 1.80 for the gravy!!! I appreciate that the cost of everything has shot up; but 1.80 for a ladles-worth of gravy - not a carton - but a ladle is outrageous! And the person that served me kept coughing over the chips as they removed them from the fryers. All in all, it wasn't even that nice. Sorry guys, but I won't be coming back. My response to the owner's response: I saw the lunchtime specials menu, and good value it looked. But on this occasion I only wanted 'regular' chips and gravy. You will never convince me, or any sensible person, that 1.80 for a 'regular' scoop of gravy is good value. I'm guessing that's why you're able to sell your small fish; pies and chicken bites so cheaply during lunchtime.
