Orvis Stockbridge Mens

Popped into Orvis Stockbridge on my way up to London specifically to look at the new Superfine Glass Rods to buy a 4wt to compliment my other Superfine Glass rod I purchased a few years back. Was greeted by Richard who chatted to me about the options and showing me the new style Superfine Glass rods. Richard was very informative of the rods and I never had the feeling he was pushing me to purchase. After handling a few rods in the range I decided to purchase the 7 6 4 weight. Unfortunately this was not in stock but that was no problem, Richard called head office and checked stock and arranged for the rod to be delivered to my home. First class service from Richard and Orvis .. Thank you

In 2003 I purchased a 14ft Trident salmon rod from the Orvis store in Bath. Since then, it has been used 3 times which includes my recent holiday to the Dee nr Balmoral. I managed to make a mess of a cast and the line ended up in a tangle near the tip. On inspection, two rings had managed to break free and the tip ring had snapped completely. The rod looks brand new without a mark. I remembered the 25 yr guarantee that comes with Orvis rods, so took it to the Stockbridge store. I expected an inquisition as it was 20 yrs old. I thought I would be expected to carry some of the responsibility for a repair. Olly was excellent and took it in without missing a beat. I paid the standard 60 rod repair fee and waited for a new tip ring and two rings to be re-fixed. All messages from Orvis said it was a repair. Today, DPD arrived at my door and handed me a much shorter package than I was expecting. Initially, I thought it was the wrong rod as I have several Orvis trout rods of similar size. I am very happy to report that Orvis have sent a brand new 15ft salmon rod matching my current lines. Where do you get better service? The rod is a 6 piece Mission 10wt if you care to look it up. About 5 times the price I paid for the one that broke! Excellent company with very rare standards of quality and service. Even better staff at Stockbridge, so well worth the trip, even if you live a couple of hours away like I do.

Recently had some Ghanian friends to visit and took them along to Orvis, the customer service we received was nothing short of exceptional. The two guys in the shop went above and beyond and are a credit to the Orvis brand. Thankyou.
