As I've posted before, I genuinely cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The food is always of the highest standard The staff are brilliant...friendly, welcoming, and very professional! Lovely rooms coupled with a beautiful location too! Can't wait til our next visit

Cannot say enough good things about this establishment. We discovered it about 13 years ago whilst looking for a dog friendly place to stay and were blown away by the amazing, superb food. We love it so much we've returned at least once per year since. Ariane and Jamie - the proprietors - are delightful and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble to make everybody's stay enjoyable. If you're a Thomas Hardy fanatic (like me) it's situated opposite his school and very close to his birthplace which is an added bonus.

Rooms: Very Quiet location, Basic Twin, not great value for money. Not clean in bathroom. Annoying filter coffee . Nice bathroom toiletries. Cute fresh milk jug, homemade brownies . Nearby activities: Nice Twin river walk and Thomas Hardy cottage walk just a stone strow away. Food & drinks: Didn't get the chance to try. Not dog friendly restaurant. Menu looks special
